The internet has made buying and viewing property online easier than ever before. But the process is not without challenges. For buyers, viewing a piece of property in person isn’t always possible, especially when they’re trying to purchase property outside of their home country. For sellers, the need to provide accurate imagery not just inside, but from above and around the property is now vital.
As a result, many real estate agencies have turned to drone solutions, such as Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling, to help better serve their business and customers.
A solution for a 3D world
As a real estate agency in France, Immoconcept has vast experience with this market. The company has offices in Paris, Moscow and Nice, and their clientele consists primarily of buyers who are looking to invest in a holiday home abroad.
Because their customers are spread across Europe, they needed a way to quickly, accurately and cost-effectively provide detailed aerial photos, videos and 3D models of the properties they promote online.
In Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling, the company found an effective solution to capture the imagery they needed without using cumbersome—and often expensive—equipment.
Easy and intuitive
One instance where Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling proved particularly helpful to Immoconcept was for a villa in the south of France.
The company was given the responsibility of advertising and selling a villa situated in the hinterland of Nice. Because of its location on the slope of a hill, it was almost impossible to photograph the villa using more traditional methods.
To get the imagery needed, Immoconcept used the drone solution, Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling to execute two circular flights of three minutes each at an altitude between 10 – 15 meters, taking 82 photographs in the process. The images and videos were transferred from the drone and processed in the cloud using the included Pix4D software, creating a realistic 3D model of the property.
“The ease with which you can obtain photos of a property and then create the 3D model, really is very surprising,” said Irina Duport, founder and manager at Immoconcept, after having used the drone for the first time.
Once the 3D model was created, Immoconcept was able to present it to both the owner and the potential buyer, the latter of which was able to use the 3D model to explore the property from all angles.
Results in the blink of an eye
Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling isn’t just for capturing sharp images and videos. Using the 3D model, users can measure distances and surface areas; ideal for when a potential buyer wants to plan an extension project, such as adding a swimming pool or a tennis court.
Immoconcept says the imagery captured by Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling has proven vital to promoting properties and that customers are more likely to view a property in person once they’ve completed a successful “virtual tour”.
Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling is also an excellent way to cut down on costs. Whereas traditional methods of capturing similar data and imagery often require expensive equipment and the need to contract out to a third party Businesses like Immoconcept can simply collect the data they need quickly and easily without the extra hassle or cost.
Irina feels that Parrot Bebop-Pro 3D Modeling has become an invaluable tool to her business. “The Parrot solution is both affordable and easy to use so it would be a shame not to use it!”
