“Your cell phone law sucks” billboard on Highway 101
A Parrot hands-free system solves Mr. Grant’s headset problem!
When we Parrot folks saw Mr. Grant’s billboard on Highway 101 in Palo Alto, we had to call him to explain that hands-free is not all about Terminator Bluetooth® headsets… so we installed a Parrot fitted hands-free system in his truck for him to truly feel the difference.
And we thought Highway 101 drivers also needed to know about the Parrot alternative to the headset, so Parrot created the above billboard to be put up at the exact same location as M. Grant’s billboard.
Indeed, here at Parrot, we are proud to propose the largest range of truly hands-free voice-activated systems: so forget useless Bluetooth headsets and go legal thanks to portable or fitted hands-free systems from Parrot.
But what is a true hands-free system?
Sure, Bluetooth headsets are the cheapest solution out there…. but at what cost? With poor sound quality and battery life, physical discomfort due to continual strains on the ear and inevitable manipulation, the headset isn’t as “hands-free” as it claims to be. And respecting the California hands-free law is not about fines, it’s about reducing distractions linked to phone conversations to a minimum while allowing drivers to stay reachable, even in their car.
Only true voice-activated systems allow you to keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road and keep cell phone conversations-related distractions to a minimum. And with Parrot’s new user-independent voice recognition, no need to pre-record voice tags anymore, so you can go hands-free right then and there.
Sound quality is also crucial, simply because the utmost important aspect of any phone call is to hear and be heard. Parrot’s core expertise lies in mastering complex digital signal processing technologies in the very noisy and constraining environment of a moving car. Concentrate on the road instead of struggling to hear what your contact is trying to tell you….
Installed on the audio system of the vehicle, a fitted Parrot hands-free system transfers all your conversations directly onto the car speakers, for crystal clear sound quality. Magic words, voice recognition and voice synthesis make it all as easy as saying “Grant” or “Pick up”. The Parrot takes care of the rest.
Portable speakerphones are also a less pricy alternative to Bluetooth headsets: easily fitted on the sun-visor, the incorporated microphone picks up your voice while the speaker faithfully reproduces your caller’s voice. No need to touch the device, it takes care of everything for you.
Like M. Grant, forget your Bluetooth headset and switch to a Parrot hands free system. So you can stay legal and drive responsibly.

Great job Parrot! Mr. Paulson would have saved himself a lot of money and embarassement if he had done a little research about hands free instead of making silly comments on a billboard. The law should have gone into effect a long time ago! Having a cell phone is not a right but a privilage just as having a drivers licence! No wonder our country is in the shape its in, we have people like Paulson as heads of companies!
That is a great idea about putting up billboards in CA to advertise change and varitey. Now only if you would put those same billboards up near ever state’s capital, that would truely get the attention of law-makers. I am sure it would raise the question of how affective the hands-free kits work and probably try the kits out for themselves before passing rediculous laws.
I own two MKi9200’s and truely enjoy it.
