California will enforce 2 hands-free laws in July

June 10th, 2008 webmaster

Ok let’s be clear, 2 laws will take effect on July 1st, 2008 in California thanks to Gov Schwarzenegger:

# SENATE BILL 33: Prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from using any wireless telephone or mobile service device while driving, including hands-free devices, walkie-talkies, pagers, two-way messaging devices and laptop computers.

# SB 1613: Requires all California motorists to use hands-free devices when using a cell phone while driving.

So please be kind with California Highway Patrol teams, drive safely and, if not a customer yet and if you are over 18, get a hands free car kit from Parrot asap!

FYI- Of course your desire to change the state bird of California is all in good fun, but did you know that there are wild parrots in the LA area? They aren’t here naturally, they escaped, it’s believed, from the arboretum and pet owners, many years ago, and happily bred in the area. If you live in LA long enough, eventually you will encounter a flock of green parrots along the way!
